PUBLIC LIASON

  • Serves as a liaison between APYM, Baltimore Area Catechetical Ministers, Baltimore Pastoral Associates, National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry, Region IV, and other outside organizations
  • Updates Servant Team and APYM of liaison activities and cross-organizational news and concerns
HISTORIAN

  • Acts as secretary for APYM Servant Team meetings and membership gatherings
  • Records minutes of all Servant Team meetings and recaps/highlights items from the membership meetings; makes available to membership in a medium agreed upon by the Servant Team (ie – digital upload to member only site).
  • Records results of elections, including the votes of those parties who did not take office in case the need arises to call upon someone to assume the role of a Servant Team member leaving their role mid-term
  • Maintains history and records of APYM and passes to the next Servant Team member to fulfill this role, or to the chair if no replacement is serving
HOST SITE/SPEAKER COORDINATOR

  • Contacts host site and reviewing needs for space, set up, meals
  • Contacts any speakers and reviewing agenda/expectations
  • Welcomes and introduces guest speakers

COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

  • Facilitates communications (print and digital)
  • Notifies each member of upcoming meetings, at least two weeks in advance
  • Maintains and distributes, in conjunction with the DYYAM, a current roster of APYM members (adding/deleting members as necessary)
  • Works with mentoring chairperson to ensure initial contact and invitations for new youth ministers eligible for APYM membership
  • Arranges contact with APYM members who are not attending meetings as a means of re-invitation
  • Receives RSVPs for APYM gatherings and sends the list to Host Site Coordinator
TREASURER

  • Writes checks and maintains checkbook
  • Presents financial updates at APYM and Servant Team meetings
  • Collects dues throughout the year
  • Reimburses hosts and pays out stipends
  • Prepares with Servant Team, and presents, annual budget to APYM and the DYYAM
MENTORING COORDINATOR

  • Works with the DYYAM in overseeing the mentoring program
  • Extends an invitation to new youth ministry professionals and their employers identified by the DYYAM to participate in the mentoring program
  • Coordinates the discernment of new mentors in collaboration with the DYYAM and the APYM Servant Team
  • Establishes relationships between the mentors and mentees
  • Once the mentoring relationship has been established, informs the employer of the mentoring relationship within thirty days
  • Sends lists of mentors to APYM Treasurer for stipends twice a year (between September and May)
  • Participates in an evaluation of the program with the DYYAM
  • Makes regular reports to the APYM membership
  • Coordinates with the Director of the DYYAM to produce an annual evaluation
DYYAM REPRESENTATIVE

Division of Youth & Young Adult Ministry, Archdiocese of Baltimore
  • As a dues-paying member of APYM, the DYYAM representative is a voting member of the APYM, but a non-voting member of Servant Team.
  • Provides input, guidance and support to the voting members of the Servant Team
  • In consultation with the Servant Team, makes final decision on the role of Mentoring Chair
APYM Chaplain
  • Fr. Steven Roth currently serves as a spiritual Father for APYM. We look forward to collaborating with him, especially in the areas of spiritual formation and vocations!
